Who We Are
Ed Bryant is the President and CEO of Sampford Advisors. Ed started Sampford because he wanted to provide world-class Investment Banking and Strategic Advisory that large companies have been accustomed to, to small and medium sized businesses. Ed has over 20 years of experience including over 16 years in Investment Banking with Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong, Singapore and New York. In that time, Ed raised in excess of $20 billion in equity and debt capital and completed over $10 billion in M&A transactions. Prior to founding Sampford, Ed held the CFO and VP of Corporate Development positions for three years at Conversant. Ed holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies from Sheffield University in England.
Mike Lambrix is a Managing Director at Sampford Advisors. Mike has over 10 years of investment banking and private equity experience in New York, London and Florida. Mike’s investment banking experience was at UBS Securities in New York City in the Telecom, Media and Technology group where he facilitated over $20 billion of Mergers, Acquisitions and Restructuring transactions. In addition, Mike has advised on over $2 billion of equity and debt capital raises. Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, concentrations in Finance and Marketing, from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
James FitzGerald is Senior Vice President at Sampford Advisors. James was Vice President of Corporate Finance at PwC Canada and has worked in corporate advisory for over 6 years. James is responsible for taking the lead on the execution of deals in Toronto/GTA. James holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bishop’s University and an Accounting degree from York University. James is also a Certified Public Accountant.
SHARON CHA, OFFICE MANAGER & HR DIRECTOR
Sharon Cha is the Office Manager and HR Director for Sampford Advisors. Prior to joining Sampford, Sharon worked as a Human Resources Recruiter for Goldman Sachs’ FICC and Equities Division in New York City. Prior to Goldman, Sharon worked as a Human Resources Generalist at Deutsche Bank in New York. Sharon holds a Masters of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Baruch College in New York City and a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University at Buffalo.
George Khalife is the Director of Business Development and Marketing at Sampford Advisors. Located in Toronto, George joined Sampford from the Toronto Stock Exchange where he was in the sales group covering growth sectors and was responsible for new listings opportunities in both Canada and the US. George is also a strong advocate for the tech community in Toronto hosting podcasts, delivering keynote speeches and being an avid blogger. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa.
Boris Petkovic is an Associate at Sampford Advisors. Boris joined Sampford shortly after completing his undergrad at Carleton University where he enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce program with a concentration in Finance. During his undergrad, Boris also completed two co-op work terms, passed Level I of the CFA Program, and undertook two empirical research studies. In his tenure at Sampford, Boris has helped facilitate approximately $100 million of M&A transactions.
Sarah McKinnon is Financial Analyst at Sampford Advisors. Sarah received her Bachelor of International Business at Carleton University. While in her undergrad, Sarah worked as an Equity Analyst with the Sprott Student Investment Fund, Carleton’s student run investment fund, and spent her third year on exchange in Madrid studying Spanish, finance, and law. She is currently a CFA Level 1 candidate.
Allen is a Financial Analyst at Sampford Advisors. Allen received his Bachelor of Commerce at Queen’s University. During his undergrad, Allen completed an internship on the private equity team of Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo). At Queen’s, Allen served as a Research Assistant, helping to conduct research for the preparation of a Harvard Business School Brief Case. Allen also served as a Portfolio Manager on both Queen’s Capital and Trillium Capital, two independent student-run investment funds. In addition, Allen served as a Co-Chair for the Queen’s Commerce Trading Committee, an undergraduate stock trading competition.
